Electrical Supervisor/Foreman
Overview:
Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, MEICA Technical Services (MTS) Ltd specializes primarily in electrical contracting, installation, testing and maintenance for the industrial, energy and utility sectors, with a particular specialism in the water industry. This is a permanent position and will be on a full-time basis (40 hrs p/w basic + travel).
As an Electrical Supervisor for MEICA Technical Services (MTS) Ltd, you will work closely with the Managing Director and site crew. You will be expected to use your knowledge gained from our internal training programme, alongside your existing industry experience to ensure the smooth running of all projects from inception to completion. The responsibilities include overseeing electrical work and site electricians, on site installation, scoping work, ordering materials, issuing permits and ensuring electrical safety rules are followed. Projects are locally and nationally based.
The chosen candidate will be required to work autonomously, have a strong sense of initiative and possess strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installation
- Ensure all paperwork is completed as required
- Oversee any appointed subcontractors and MTS site crew, checking RAMS statements, on site health and safety, progress reporting.
- Completed permits and RAMS returned to Managing Director on a weekly basis
- Ensure all drawings are procured and issued to site teams for commencement of work
- Ensure all drawings are red-lined and amended correctly
Necessary Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant Electrical Supervisor role.
- A solid background in industrial and commercial electrics
- 18th Edition Qualified Electrician
- Good understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- Experience of scoping jobs and ordering materials
- Ability to read electrical drawings, panel drawings and wiring diagrams
- Industrial M&E Knowledge
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong team working capabilities and people management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving mind-set
- Full clean (preferably) driving license
- You will be expected to carry out tasks without guidance once trained. You will be required to work autonomously and on your own initiative.
- Previous experience in a similar role understanding of permit systems
- Good literacy skills
- Proactive thinking with an enthusiastic character
- CSCS/ECS card
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of the water/waste water industry
- Test and Inspection 2394/2395 (2391)
- COMPEX
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- IPAF & PASMA qualified
Training:
Full training of the business background, mandatory health and safety requirements as well as our products and services will be given, enabling the day to day tasks of the job to be more clearly understood.
Hours and days of work, holidays and pay day:-
We would be looking for the ideal candidate to start as soon as possible.
- 40 hours per week basic. Paid Travel.
- Holidays will be 28 days per annum (including bank holidays) from January to December, increasing to 33 days after 5 years’ full service.
- Salary (per hour rate) by negotiation dependent on experience.
