Overview
Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, MEICA Technical Services (MTS) Ltd specialize in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation for heavy industrial projects in the water, utilities and energy sectors. The role will require the candidate to specialize primarily in electrical contracting, with a working knowledge of MEICA projects. This is a full-time position, with scope for hybrid working if required.
As a Contracts Manager for MEICA Technical Services, you will work closely with the Managing Director, site supervisors, as well as the Operations Director. You will be expected to use your knowledge gained from our internal training programme, alongside your existing industry experience to ensure the smooth running of all projects from inception to completion.
The chosen candidate will be required to work autonomously in small office environment, have a strong sense of initiative and possess strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee each project’s life cycle from conception to completion, with an emphasis on resource efficiency and profitability.
• Tender writing support
• Risk assessments and method statements
• Sourcing materials
• Scheduling and assigning labour
• Sourcing and the management of other trades and sub-contractors
• Test certification and project documentation
• O&M support
• Customer liaison
• Post project evaluation
• Prospecting new work and leads to grow the business.
• Support marketing activities by liaising with the marketing department about particularly successful or newsworthy projects.
Necessary Skills:
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant Contracts Manager / Project Manager role.
• A solid project/contracts management background in the MEICA and/or water treatment/industrial sectors.
• Sound judgement and good business sense
• Organisational skills
• Strong team working capabilities
• The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
• Analytical and problem-solving mind-set
• Full clean (preferably) driving license
• You must be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and willing to introduce new ideas to the business, developing your own role and helping the business to flourish
• You will be expected to carry out tasks without guidance once trained. You will be required to work autonomously and on your own initiative.
Desirable Skills:
• Qualifications equivalent to Technical Degree or HND background
• You will be required to assist with the creation of RAMS documentation so will need to be familiar with Health and Safety regulations and requirements on site.
• You may be asked to assist in editing electrical drawings and designs, it would therefore be advantageous to have knowledge and experience in the use of CAD.
Training:-
Full training of the business background and our products and services will be given, enabling the day to day tasks of the job to be more clearly understood.
Hours and days of work, holidays and pay day:-
We would be looking for the ideal candidate to start as soon as possible.
• 40 hours per week. The day to day breakdown of hours to be discussed.
• Holidays will be 28 days per annum (including bank holidays) from January to December, increasing to 33 days after 5 years’ full service (pro rata if part-time).
• Salary by negotiation dependent on experience.
• You will be entitled to our generous company-contributory pension scheme after three months service
